Beware Of 'Secret Shopper' Scam In Westchester

A Westchester resident reported that she was the victim of a "Secret Shopper" scam.

The scam began with an email asking if she was interested in the Secret Shopper Program, according to Mount Pleasant police. After agreeing, a U.S. Postal Order arrived in the mail which she then deposited.

The victim sent money to a third party using a Walmart Money transfer.

Police advised, "Please be careful with these gimmicks - if it seems too good to be true, it's probably a scam."
